A Beginners Guide to Happiness - One4Review
In this club converted to a comedy space, Paul Coneely, self described as Philip Schofield if her really let himself go or Hagrid from Harry Potter after a visit to the barbers is performing his show A Beginners Guide to Happiness. Conneely interacts with a lot of the audience finding out what makes then happy and unhappy, before handing out ‘bribes’ and then launching into his set talking about what makes him happy and some things that don’t. The comedy is not ground breaking, but it is funny, okay not too many belly laughs were forthcoming, but with material on ipods, NHS Direct, Ryan Air, relationships train journeys and the like it was a pleasant enough way to spend fifty minutes, and not over priced either. I’d previously only seen him in a sketch troupe and wondered how he would go down as a standup, but he was fine and I look forward to seeing this gentle giant again before too long. ***
