Watson and Oliver - One4Review

There is a plethora of sketch show comedy at Fringe 2008, and it is done in different styles, different numbers and different qualities. However I don’t think I have seen it done any better, by Lorna, the blond one and Ingrid the brunette, I still don’t which is Watson and which is Oliver though!! Whereas some of the others I have seen there is always an odd sketch that seems weaker than the rest, this is not the case with this show. The show is exceptionally well written, well directed and superbly performed.. Both have very expressional faces and great comic timing and have the material to bring to the fore these qualities. There are around 15 sketches with in the all to short period of their show with barely a pause between them and an interesting idea, a call-back to last years show. Never seen that one before. I’m not going to list my favourite sketch, cause I can’t, they were all excellent. I used to think that I was never going to give maximum stars to a sketch show as there was always something that didn’t work. Watson and Oliver have forced me to change my mind. *****
