OCD:  Truly, Madly, Neatly - One4Review

For the second year running, Gill Smith is performing a show as part of The Laughing Hose Free Fringe on OCD. I hope this is not habit forming!! Gill has suffered from this condition from birth and has a number of theories as to how this may have been influenced by her upbringing. She goes through, in chronological order of her life to date, and illustrates sections of her life with anecdotes of childhood and growing up, illustrating her condition and getting knowing laughter and acknowledging nods from her pretty full audience. Ms Smith likes lists, oh boy does she like lists and has a number of these to itemise the second phase of the show on behavioral traits. In no way though is it like a lecture, nor a ‘meeting’ of fellow sufferers, what it is forty minutes of gentle funny comedy that is even child friendly. Just as well as Gill is infanticipating and doesn’t want her unborn child’s first memory to be mummy swearing.   As part of the ethos of the Free Fringe, no charge is made for entry, however donations are requested on leaving, what ever you can afford, after all performers do have to eat, and she is eating for two.   ***
