In his brown, flared, 3 piece suit, Pete Firman looks every inch the 1970s magician but this hour long showcase of his talent is anything but outdated. With his cheeky Northern wit Pete charms and astounds the audience in equal measure. As he puts it himself, this show is all about ‘jokes and tricks’ and Mr Firman is accomplished at both. There are a mixture of traditional magic tricks, such as the disappearing egg, and plucking coins from behind peoples’ ears, to levitation and even a mind reading goose, to the more macabre; swallowing needles anyone? But all are equally impressive. The allotted hour flew by, which is always the sign of a good show. Pete Firman’s Magic Show is slick, funny and a showcase for the talents of this up and coming star.  ****
