Isy Suttie – Pearl and Dave - One4Review

4 Stars ****

This was the first time I had seen Derbyshire born Isy Suttie doing a whole hour, my only previous experience was in the Comedy Zone at the Fringe some years ago so I was looking forward to a new experience.

Ms Suttie is maybe small in statue but obviously now huge in talent. One lady and her guitar introduced the concept of the show of an almost failed pen pal attempt, which in spite of potential problems, actually flourished.

Isy relates the story of how a chance meeting between her penpal Dave, and a posh girl fromSurreyby name ofPearlled to a whole host more.

As well as being a wonderfully gifted comedic raconteur, the story often drawing belly laughs from the sell-out audience, Issy has a really pleasant singing voice and accompanying herself on guitar treated one and all to half a dozen of her songs as part of the story as well.

Although she is not a total stranger to TV already, I’m sure it will not be long before she is a regular, and I look forward to this together with her future live shows too.
