That a difference a year makes. Last year South Shields born funny man Chris Ramsey was playing in a small venue okay selling out every day, and now his much extended tour rolls into Edinburgh to the same sell-outs but this time the cavernous McEwan Hall which is a thousand seater.

Ramsey is a very likeable guy with a huge personality and a keen observational and laugh-out loud set that is in essence last year’s show, but high profile TV appearances such as his starring role in BBC2’s Hebburn and Celebrity Juice and so on have raised his profile and gathered him a legion of new fans across the age spectrum.

Luck in all forms, who Chris speaks to, how everyone came to be, how he survived some chaotic childhood episodes especially on holiday in Spain, and a present from his family are all topics that this eloquently hilarious guy elicits material from as only he can.

Ramsey is definitely heading for the very top of his profession and it is easy to see why. The tickets, if there are any left, will not be there for long, so don’t delay! Certainly the crowd last night left feeling very lucky indeed that they had the chance to see such an entertaining show.
