Gráinne Maguire is a general election geek. Fact. She openly admits this stating it is the highlight of her life every 5 years and with no election around this year has decided to stage her own election special.

The packed out audience have to vote prior to the show and place their selection in ballot boxes and there is even a live count during the show. Party leaders are elected and armed with PowerPoint, rosettes, swingometers and all we strap in while she leads us through the night.

As one may expect there is a lot of political material within her hour and she has an interesting idea or two linking politics with popular entertainment shows as well. Ms McGuire links this with a few elections that she has participated in in her personal life.

From time to time the show is interrupted with live election results are announced from the previous poll and watch out for the party leaders involvement in her finale.

You don’t have to be a political animal to enjoy this show but I guess a slight knowledge would add to the enjoyment.
