Dan Nightingale is a personable comic with more than a decade of comedy under his belt and can always be relied upon to deliver a funny show with Dan himself usually being the butt of his stories and the 2014 offering Trying Hard not to be a Dick is yet another one.

From the opening introduction to his conclusion an hour later Nightingale has a set packed through with well-crafted anecdotes with a wide range of subjects such as swearing, relationship compatibilities, running, especially in Chelsea, road rage, fat squirrels, dating profiles, new relationship hang-ups and embarrassments together with going to an OAP film clubs with his father are just a few of the ports of call along the way.

There is no posturing or audience interrogation during his show, just an hour of very enjoyable comedy from an established comic. I could recommend this as great tea time viewing and a must if you want to hear how he managed to be bounced from a fast food establishment in York, almost unbelievable it may sound but it happened.
