Hooray for Ben Target 4**** - One4Review

Hooray for Ben Target 4****

| On 09, Aug 2014

There’s nothing like a little outrageous comedy to set you up for the day. This show is quite, quite silly, but also really friendly, good-humoured (in that Mr Target wasn’t taking himself overly seriously) and good fun. I liked the concept (explained by Ben), and the challenge he’s set himself, and that the show is likely to evolve throughout the Fringe.

Similar to other shows this year, this one makes good and full use of the audience, exploring what an audience will do in the name of comedy. Turns out, quite a lot, including making an invisible cake (and passing it round the room) and pelting Target with shoes.

Ben presents himself with total confidence and control, and an apparent iron conviction in his material (I believe this because, as he said, ‘the audience goes with him while Ben does what he wants’). I definitely want to see what this show becomes.
