Mitch Benn - Don’t Believe a Word 4**** - One4Review
one4review | On 05, Aug 2014
Mitch Benn is a stalwart of BBC Radio 4’ The Now Show amongst others and of course is a very popular and erudite live performer also. He checks into the Stand Comedy Club once more with the latest episode of his musings.
There are a number of things that rile him and he opines at length on many subjects, religion, astrology, scientology and Gwyneth Paltrow are stopping points along the way.
Benn is very quick in his delivery, he packs in so much material it is occasionally difficult to keep up, but make the effort because he has loads of interesting and extremely funny material packed into his hour.
And then of course there are his comedy songs. I remember Benn many years ago when they were the main stay of his set. Today there are less but they are still an integral part of his appeal and his creative juices have not abated.
One doesn’t have to agree with his views to have a good time and he is willing to discuss with individuals after the gig.
His is a show is one that should be checked out and that is a word that can be believed.
