Shazia Mirza – Bulletproof 4 ****

| On 05, Aug 2014

Shazia Mirza is always a well written comic with plenty to say in her shows and this was no exception.

Initial audience interaction although garnered little to work with was okay but where she shines is in the prepared material and that is something she achieved well.

The title refers to an episode when she was to do some stand-up gigs in Pakistan and she was advised to obtain a bulletproof vest due to the possible problems with the Talliban in the area. The ensuing process of purchasing this provided much scope for her fertile comedy mind and this in turn lead her to the thoughts on reviews, Trip Advisor and Argos always scope there!

Other content on her ethnicity at times lead to audible gasps from her crowded house but were seriously outnumbered by the peals of laughter especially for me the part around a Radio Two producer.

I am certain that the audience were in agreement with me that she is a fine comic, but one or two commented that could smile a bit more. Still if that is the only comment then job well done.
