Philharmonic of Wit 4**** - One4Review

This show deserves all the superlatives you can think of. It was wonderful, joyous noise performed by extremely good musicians, arranged and performed with talent and, yes, wit.
Philharmonic of Wit are a small orchestra (only two first violins – but two percussionists), conductor, pianist and two opera singers. They’re all exceptionally good, with most of the musicians taking on smaller or larger solo elements throughout the show. I was especially impressed by the violinist’s rendition of Highway to Hell.
It’s not all classical music either – there was quite a range, including that rock, and some jazz and swing and pop. If you know something about orchestral or operatic music, then there’s definitely another layer of funny to be understood – but if you don’t, the music is still beautiful and engaging and entertaining.
It’s a longer show than your average, and their lovely encores might cause it to be a bit longer than that. However, I do believe anyone who likes music would have a good time at this show – no matter what age. There was a small child near me dancing in the aisle.
