Tom Toal in Prequel 4**** - One4Review

Tom Toal in Prequel 4****

| On 16, Aug 2014

Having only ever seen TT in 20 minute sets I was keen to see if this amiable comic had what it takes for the full hour. He definitely has. And then some.

As part of the Free Fringe with no techy back up it is as always a slightly surreal start with him doing the ‘housekeeping’ but then we were off on a journey that is both compelling and funny in equal measure.

Staring off with some embarrassing stories of his childhood, his relationship with his parents especially his comical dad, through a non-affinity with speaking in church Toal progresses to relationships and how to deal with potentially life changing news

Part of the appeal of Tom is his self-deprecating humour, and his ability to build in both light and shade together with changes of pace in his material. He even got the audience all up on their feet joining in at times too.

This is definitely a young man with a big future I reckon and I look forward to seeing him prosper. As part of the PBH Free Fringe entry is Free but a donation is requested on the way out. Well take your donation, fold it carefully and put it in his bucket. It will still be a bargain.
