Dyspraxia and Politics: The Two Sides to Don Biswas 3*** - One4Review

| On 13, Aug 2015

Don Biswas’ show title is entirely accurate: this show is about dyspraxia (which Don has) and his politics, which, as he says, have been influenced by his experience of living with dyspraxia. It’s conventional stand-up and remains faithful to the theme of the show. Until the audience had reconciled ourselves to Don’s particular style of delivery, some of the interaction was slightly awkward. However, this, and his apparent confidence on stage, improved throughout the show and was generally positive by the end. In content there is some sharp and perceptive material mixed in with some more standard fare, although perhaps a little too didactic in places for my tastes. The venue itself is another tiny sauna so Don thoughtfully provided bottles of water to keep us cool. Special mention to the lovely MC Stella who introduced the show with a brief set of her own. An interesting show, and definitely ‘one-to-watch’. Reviewed by Laura Laughing Horse @ The Counting House, 21:30 (until 16th)
