Elaine Malcolmson: Arrangements 4****

| On 14, Aug 2015

Elaine Malcolmson has been away from the Scottish comedy scene for far too long as far as I am concerned so it was with great interest that I went to see what was her first ever Fringe solo show.

She has her own style of delivery, one could never describe her as hyperactive on stage and the deadpan look and demeanour may suggest that she is uncomfortable on stage. But I know that she is not and also she has always delivered a quality performance.

Arrangements is a story centred around Julie that she reads in sections to her afternoon crowd, interspersed with the likable Ms Malcolmson sometimes deconstructing the passage read, other times musing on points raised by it, generating laughter a plenty and thought provoking ideas as well, make this an easy and enjoyable way to spend an hour.

Don’t look for too many belly laughs or posturing, but do expect to have a well prepared and written comic deliver a set of dry humour that will definitely leave you with a smile on your face.
