The undisputed queen of Scottish comedy Janey Godley has brought her brand of comedy to the Free Festival this year but make no mistake the lady has lost none of her bite.

Janey has always been a no nonsense shoot from the lip comic going places and saying things that lesser comics may baulk over and this year there is no exception. Janey has opinions that she is delighted to share with her huge enthusiastic audience who hang on every word.

But she doesn’t talk to shock. She tells it as it is. Whether it is her family history, getting dogs in her youth, visits to Lidl, her husband’s Asperger’s syndrome, Michelle Mone, feminism or being on the scene shortly after the bin lorry disaster in Glasgow, Ms Godley describes everything so vividly that the situations become almost tangible, yet she always manages to get laughs out of the incidents, a rare gift.

This show is already very popular and it is oh so easy to see why. As part of the Free Festival entry is free but a collection on leaving is the order of the day. So take your contribution and give as much as you can afford. She is worth every penny.
