Gearoid Farrelly: Gearoid less travelled 3*** - One4Review

Gearoid starts by telling us the title of his show is to help people pronounce his name properly as no one ever does, they say it like haemorrhoid instead. This entertaining camp Irishman then went on to provide an hour of fun and lots of laughs. He talks about the recent marriage equality referendum in Ireland, something he once thought was a good idea but now he’s lived with his partner for 6 months he’s not so sure. Many of his stories and gags are around being gay, his family, his previous job in insurance (which he has now quit to do comedy full time) and how he loved living alone.
The hour passed quickly as Gearoid is a good storyteller who involves the audience but doesn’t pick on anyone. He has really good comedy timing and delivers his material well and in an often exaggerated camp fashion which the crowd enjoyed. A good solid fringe show worth going to see.
