Mick Ferry is just a Bloke 4**** - One4Review

Mick Ferry is a bloke there is no doubt about that. I can’t agree with the ’just’ part as he is a quality comedian who has a wealth of experience together with TV appearances under his belt as well.
This late evening show in an Edinburgh room where the air con actually works is packed out as he hits the stage and seeks audience input for a better, for that read stranger, title for the show and a ‘message’ for the finale.
I’m all for crowd work but some people get the impression that this is a discussion not a performance especially as a lotta drink is consumed. Ferry deals with this, but I feel it hampered his performance a little.
That said, he has a set that is packed with funny material, his gags and anecdotes soliciting huge laughs throughout. A few of the topics he visits are his weight, his mates, Stephen Hawkins, his kids and Heaven all of which his well-written set mined laughs by the score. For me however the section dealing with his trip to Honk Kong with fellow comics was worth the admission price alone.
