Morgan & West: Unbelievable Science 4****

| On 17, Aug 2019

Time travelling magicians, Rhys Morgan and Robert West, met whilst studying at Oxford and in a previous life were both science teachers. Welcoming their large audience into the theatre in their Victorian finery you immediately get the impression this is going to be an enjoyable show.
The gentlemen begin by telling us a bit about themselves and how boring old science can be fun. They start with a few experiments changing colourless liquid to luminous colours simply by adding another colourless liquid. The children were amazed by the chemical reactions. They have optical illusions where we see Mr West’s head growing and shrinking right before our eyes, my two little ones (aged 5 and 8) particularly loved this part.
Although a good part of the educational stuff, such as an excellent explanation of atoms, electrons etc, went over the head of the younger audience members there was enough variety from this very professional pair of entertainers to keep even the younger members enthralled throughout. The show is paced well and has a good mix of humour, wonderment and scientific information to appeal to a wide-ranging audience and the ending is truly electrifying.
Good family entertainment, well worth going to see.
