Central Hall in Tollcross has been transformed into the best nightclub in town.
Symphonic Ibiza fuses a thrilling 20-piece orchestra with high tempo beats from renowned club DJ Andy Joyce and musical genius Steve Etherington, whose credentials include residencies of Ibiza super-clubs Pacha, Amnesia, Eden and Cafe Mambo.
So we’re not in sunny Ibiza but Bonnie Scotland. To celebrate this, we get the party started with a couple of good old Scottish tunes, played by a female bagpipe player who is accompanied by the orchestra. The music soon changes as the DJ joins into the mix as they play their version of Fat Boy Slim’s Right Here, Right Now. The conductor not only conducts the orchestra but soon gets the crowd waving their hands in the air and dancing to the beat.
This is old school Ibiza at its best. There was a brilliant production of Faithless, Insomnia, two singers brought up the tempo to Show Me Love, great rendition of Underworld -Trainspotting Theme and an amazing tribute to Avicii throughout this incredible performance.
The Ibiza vibe was brilliantly created with graphics shown on a screen at the back of the DJ stand, strobe lighting and smoke pelting through the air.
The orchestra accompanied this amazing DJ set brilliantly. Do not expect to be sitting on your seat watching this. You will be on your feet pumping to the beat for the full set. Absolutely brilliant night out. Well worth the ticket price.
