Anybody who knows anything about the Scottish comedy scene will be more than aware that the pairing of two of the top comperes around for an hours chat show / podcast recording should be more than interesting. Bruce, with his hilarious camp bitchiness and Jojo, telling it how it is, are the perfect foil for each other as they banter with together, discuss topical items and interview a daily selection of guests.
Each act joins them on stage to have a chat, answer some questions and I suppose promote the shows they are doing each day. The show I saw had guests, comedian Helen Bauer performing at the Pleasance, Stokes and Summers a theatre/ sketch show at the Gilded Balloon and Anthony Di Vito playing nightly at Just the Tonic Mash House.
The questioning was relatively gentle, the thing being I guess to bring the guests out of themselves rather than put them on the spot, and it worked well.
This was an enjoyable way to spend an hour, and the seats were quite comfy too. Oh and co-host Jojo Sutherland is delivering her very funny show’ Growing Old Disgracefully’ at the Gilded Balloon at 16.45 nightly.
