Elsa McTaggart – Her Story 4****

| On 16, Aug 2022

The hour of 10.45 a.m. is kinda early in Fringe terms but there was a large audience in attendance to witness the opening day of Her Story, just one of the many shows that Elsa Jean McTaggart is performing this Fringe.
In essence, this show is a potted version of Elsa’s life to date. She is an interesting and widely travelled performer, and her story and is narrated by her anecdotes, illustrated with some VT, but mostly with a selection of a few self-penned eclectic song. With her husband Gary on keyboards, and percussionist Lydia, Elsa’s melodic singing and skills on guitar and fiddle transport her admirers along with her, from Scotland, to Wales, Ireland, Spain, Porto Rico. Although the songs are not known to most of the crowd, short join in choruses were soon learned and collective clapping along actively encouraged.
This is a lovely way to start off the Fringe Day, the seats are comfy, the entertainment of a high quality, so why not give it a try. After all that is what the Fringe should be all about.
