Lauren Pattison – It is What It is 4.5 **** - One4Review

Back in 2017 Lauren Pattison, an achieving, working-class Geordie burst onto the comedy scene, progressed even further in 2018, decided not to do Edinburgh in 2019 to prepare a masterpiece for 2020, but we all know what happened in 2020 don’t we? And like many her career path radically changed. So did her location and her personal life.
This is a story told as only she can and once again Lauren demonstrated to the very busy lunchtime crowd that although she has been away for a while she is just as good as before.
Lauren has a non-confrontational style and pleasing delivery. Her jam-packed set covering the enforced career change, relating often self-deprecating anecdotes, laced through with a multitude of laugh-out-loud moments about her early life, the initial move to London, gigging all-around the world, failed relationship, relocation ‘home’ and her take on people’s views on social standing, I just loved the way she dealt with a ‘posh’ acquaintance at a gig, oh and an anecdote on how she nearly died on holiday.
All in all, it was a thoroughly entertaining hour of entertainment, one that proves the earlier praise for her abilities was well founded. She is back. Comedy world look out.
