Lucy Porter: Wake Up Call 4.5****

| On 09, Aug 2022

I must admit I’m a bit of a fan when it comes to Lucy Porter and she never fails to deliver a good show at the Fringe.  This year is no exception.  She performs in a beautifully air conditioned venue at the top of the stairs, but it’s well worth the climb.

We discover that post lockdown, Lucy has hit her very own mid-life crisis and she takes us on her personal journey of how to handle it with aplomb.
You can tell she’s delighted to be back in Edinburgh, this beautiful, talented, sensational woman, her words and mine, is an absolute treat to listen to.
We get a glimpse of what Lucy’s life was like during lockdown, a staple of this years Fringe, and it turns out she’s just like the rest of us, apart from the fact she’s a celebrity, on TV quiz shows, Radio 4 and Eastenders!
She explores health and taking up sports in mid-life with much amusement.
One thing we do have in common is we’ve both had our gall-bladders removed.  My advice, stay off the cheese and go and see her show. She may be that mid-life crisis role model you’re searching for.
