Marcus Brigstocke - Absolute Shower 5***** - One4Review
one4review | On 09, Aug 2022
From the minute Marcus Brigstocke wandered onto stage dressed like my old Geography Teacher, he had the audience absolutely on-side with his amazing trip down memory lane of what life was like for us all during Covid.
The highs and the lows of a pandemic played out beautifully and delivered with real empathy made us think back to our own experiences and made us all grateful that comedy is back again at the Fringe.
His strength is his ability to tell a story, involve the audience and make us laugh out loud at things we did to survive from panic buying to home schooling. Masks, vaccines and shopping for neighbours all get a worthy mention. Can you remember any achievements you managed to complete?
What did surprise me is his range of impersonations! Absolutely spot on.
Post-pandemic, politics and the state of the nation got a fair bit of coverage as you would expect, and his perspective on the current Conservative Leadership battle was brilliant.
Marcus covers a whole range of other topics and dares to discuss the virtues of health and well-being equally alongside the despair of immigration.
A thoroughly enjoyable show that made me reminisce about the happier side of darker times.
