Set in the early 1990’s, Rent is a very gritty musical based on the Puccini’s opera La Boheme. It’s the tale of a group of New Yorkers struggling with life, poverty, drugs and HIV.

Performed at Paradise in Augustine’s on George IV Bridge, this sell out experience had the audience spell bound for over 2 hours. Bare Productions have done an incredible job and you this show deserves a bigger stage.

As well as all the drama there are some wonderfully light-hearted moments and some very memorable songs. At times a real tear-jerker.

The show opens with Mark and Roger, budding film-maker and struggling musician and takes us on a journey through the tough times they encounter along with their friends.

Stand out performances by Nick Tomlinson (Roger) and Freya Rivero (Mimi), made this show one not to be missed, both showcasing their tremendous vocals.

In fact there’s no weak links as everyone in the cast can belt out a tune.

A standing ovation at the end of show highlighted how much we the audience appreciated all your hard work and dedication to this incredibly entertaining show.
