Real life sisters Rosie and Nicola Dempsey perform as Flo and Joan, borrowing the names from elderly relatives and they have been an undoubted success for nearly a decade. Sell-out Fringe shows, TV appearances, bank adverts and an Amazon Prime special are among the high spots in their career.
The sisters have always performed quality quirky comedy songs interspersed with funny and occasionally slightly risqué repartee. This is a formula that has worked oh so well, as the occasionally bickering duo, Flo on keys and vocals, Joan on drums, percussion and vocals, both with a flurry of recorders too, royally entertain the sell-out show.
This is a selection of songs they want to sing, some are older, some are new, it is a compilation that has something for everyone.
They are having fun, we are having the same, one or two of my favourites were there, and although I have seen them a few times previously a lot were unfamiliar.
If you have never seen them before this is an ideal taster, if you have, then it’s still a lovely way to spend an hour and hear a few favourites as well.
There is also their ‘main show’ this year available too, One Man Musical at Pleasance Queen Dome 19.00 nightly until 25th August
