To say that twenty six year old Henry Rowley is a Tik Tok sensation is actually an understatement. He has 1.3 million followers. Oh and over 450K on Instagram. Henry’s demographic is in evidence tonight in the sold out cosy venue at The Pleasance. The audience are mainly Gen X and predominantly female.

Henry is a self confessed posh boy. Son of a doctor and therapist. Hailing from Leicester, he was shocked to find even posher contemporaries on his arrival at Bristol University. There are stories from his time at University. The show is more a series of sketches than stand up. He creates multiple characters that he has encountered during his time in Bristol which are recurring and familiar to his many followers.

There is clever use of a voice over which sets the scenes as Henry acts out the characters and skilfully interacts with himself. This is, after all, a one man show!

At the beginning of the show, Henry tell us that we are going to be taken on a journey on what goes on in his head. We definitely get a taster but I think it would take more than an hour to fully explore.

There is a lot more to come from Henry Rowley. He has a face for television and it’s only a matter of time before his potential for mass appeal is realised.
