Nerine Skinner -The Exorcism of Liz Truss 4.5 **** - One4Review

I suppose there won’t be too many people who will lament the shortness of Liz Truss’s tenure as Prime Minister, and the few nightmare weeks she was in charge. Maybe Nerine Skinner was one, as she made the most of the situation with her uncanny hilarious impressions, much hailed on YouTube and social media. And then Truss was gone. Inhabiting instead Nerine’s body it seems. Enough is enough.
An exorcism has been arranged, we are greeted at the door with our order of service, once seated we are in for an hour of wickedly funny, delightfully presented and cleverly interlinked characters, VT highlights, songs and impersonations as the versatile and inventive event takes place.
Expect to see 3 former PMs, Deputy Leader of the Labour Party, Aussie wellness coach, therapists, vampires, not forgetting, try as we might Nadine Dorries, portrayed by Nerine, ably assisted by a select few audience members as the Exorcism progresses.
This is a feelgood show, deliciously silly at times, but funny and entertaining throughout. The near sell-out crowd were loving it. Nerine was loving it, and why wouldn’t everybody?
The knowledge of politics is not essential, all the major characters are part of pop culture. What is essential is to go and have a great time, no matter which side of the political divide you may be on.
