Hannah Platt : Defence Mechanism 4**** - One4Review
one4review | On 17, Aug 2024
Hannah Platt could well be the voice of her generation. She is not afraid to tackle the big relevant issues affecting young people today.
Hannah has been diagnosed with body dysmorphia and the show is essentially about how she thinks the world looks back at her.
There are other issues covered which you would imagine might not sit well within a comedy show like self esteem, depression and dealing with a nagging negative voice in your head. But Hannah has a natural charm and wit that carries you along the journey. She talks about her queerness but there are also stories about disastrous dates with the opposite sex.
Hannah also talks us through going to therapy and her observations through this journey. We hear about growing up and coping with being bullied with possibly not much help from her mother. It is all presented with much charm and there are some very funny punchlines.
Hannah Platt’s self confessed low self esteem should take a massive boost from this sold out show to an appreciative, never not on side, audience.
A compelling , funny show from a talented performer. One to watch.
