Ted Hill : 110 Percent Normal 4**** - One4Review
one4review | On 21, Aug 2024
Through this hour of comedy Ted Hill tries to convince us that he is a normal comedian presenting a completely normal comedy show. This is in fact an extraordinary show. It is high tech multi media involving power point graphs, a clever use of pre programmed voice overs and on stage camera and screen.
This is far from a traditional stand up comedy show. The clever use of technology and Ted’s nerdy enthusiasm is infectious.
Ted explores the perception of what is normal. He has done his homework and studied the Netflix specials from the top comedians to try to be that normal comedian.
Ted talks about his ADHD and the possibility of autism and there are personal and endearing touches as he reveals that his brother is autistic. There are further personal anecdotes which seem quite shocking on first hearing but are apparently less rare than you might have imagined.
No one in the front row escapes from being involved in participating in some way to the content of the show.
The perception of normality is explored in a funny and clever way. It is entertaining and the use of technology is quite unique to a comedy show. Ted’s nerdy enthusiasm is so endearing. It’s funny and sincere and actually not weird at all.
