One thing that you cannot do with Abigoliah Schauman is to ignore her. If it is not for her comedic abilities, stage presence or standout hair. She is memorable. Having seen Abligoliah a number of times I was expecting to be royally entertained and this was the case once more.
Despite being in the UK for years she and her partner decided that they should apply for a partnership visa . There was so much paperwork and cost implications to navigate, it was suggested they would be better getting married might be easier, but no, not for them.
With the assistance of a performer / lawyer / friend she calls Candy Bar lawyer the paperwork is delivered, and the waiting game begins.
The show is kept moving at pace and is packed out with funny incidents, anecdotes, often self-deprecating of course, as is the norm and the hour is augmented with material about American tourists, ADHT, sexuality and on contrasting behaviours between The Brits and Americans. Abigoliah can always find an edge.
So does her application get accepted? Is she here only for the Fringe? Can they now plan for the future? The way to find out is to go visit the show, after all there are huge legal fees to find.
