Faith Brown & Her Boys in the Buff - One4Review

What makes a great Fringe show? Different things to different people! For me almost anything dependant on mood. For comedienne, singer, actress and impressionist Faith Brown it seems to be saving her dilapidated theatre with a male review to outrival the Chippendales and give us ordinary females much much more! We see her and her camp pianist (Michael Roulston) audition men of various shapes and sizes and are treated to their deepest darkest insecurities about their bodies. Promoted as ‘The Full Monty’ meets ‘A Chorus Line’ we get songs called ‘The Streaker’s Dream’, ‘Tabo Tattoos’ and ‘My Foreskin and Me’. This is a great musical for the ladies and some men too. The male performers are all good dancers and superb singers. The script and lyrics are very funny and well written. The choreography interesting and Faith is displayed to her optimum surrounded by nubile young men and doing the things she does best. D espite the title I did not expect the guys to do the Full Monty and my one personal complaint too much face and not enough cheek! ****
