Aeneas Faversham Forever  - One4Review

The last show I saw by the Penny Dredfuls was more a sketch show.  This Edinburgh Fringe Festival production of “Aeneas Faversham Forever”, however is more a comedy play. Based round the building of London Bridge, disappearing building managers and an evil-oyster-shell.  This Victorian play with overtones of gothic horror, pulp fiction and conspiracies which threaten not only the Great British Empire but also the World.     The three, or was it six or nine performers, well there are several characters but never more than three on stage at any one time and as with any Victorian melodrama it all turns out well in the end. Humphrey Ker, David Reed and Thom Tuck are ‘The Penny Dreadfuls’. Good going comedy romp that had most of the audience rolling in the isles but beware they are selling out fast you might just have to challenge someone to a duel to get a ticket soon and you’ll find a percentage of the audience are repeat offenders. ****
