Devlin's Daily - One4Review

There a a few things that are certain during each Fringe that I have attended over the last few years,  that there will be plenty of hangovers, the weather will be crap and that Devlin’s Daily will always have a selection of the best comedy acts on the Fringe and for free too!! The show runs to the same format as usual, Bruce Devlin takes to the stage and warms up the audience for a few minutes before settling into his role as mine host and chatting with  a number of acts who are their to entertain but also to promote their own shows. So this is really a win, win, win situation. It gets people to visit Scotland’s premier comedy club, get the chance to see snippets of shows they could want to see more of and provide an hour and a half’s entertainment to boot. The show I saw provided this from:- Ruth Bratt staring in A-Team The Musical, Reduced Edinburgh Impro Show and Showstopper The Impro Musical Young Asian Comedian Imran Yousiff Vladimir McTavish performing at The Stand Gavin Webster also performing at The Stand Des O’Connor, no not the TV version, Peter Duncan Former Blue Peter presenter performing at Pleasance   Of all the similar shows around for me the thing that keeps be coming back again and again is host Bruce Devlin himself. He has the knack of being very funny, yet not dominating his guests and drawing anecdotes from them at will. Move over Graham Norton!!!! The line-up changes daily, so this is a show you could see often and get a different line up each time, but beware the club does fill up quickly so to get a good seat it is advisable to turn up early and maybe sample some of the excellent hot food that is in offer.   ****
