A Beginner’s Guide To the Fringe
The concept of this show would be an ideal start for anyone who has never been to the Fringe before, but I’m afraid it has been all done before, and I am afraid to say far better. Okay I am no beginner by a long shot, but I do go to shows with an open mind and take into account audience reaction at times, but there was precious little I’m afraid. Our guide Alpha and his assistant Beta tried to steer the ensemble of ‘beginners’ through the myriad of shows on offer. They gave us impro, kids, folk and student theatre amongst others but try as they might… I’m sorry peeps it just didn’t happen. It was very early in the run so who knows, it’s got so much potential but the show in my opinion, is crying out for some fairly drastic reworking of its material. *
