Blues and Burlesque Speakeasy Show 4 Stars **** - One4Review

Blues and Burlesque Speakeasy Show 4 Stars ****

| On 08, Aug 2013

With a lot of Fringe shows the title bears no resemblance to the content or tries to attract attention with a snappy title. Not this one however. It does exactly what is says on the tin.

Playing in what is basically a pub with a stage this is an hour of fun and good music. The keyboard maestro is Pete Saunders and he plays mean blues music to warm up the growing crowd prior to our hostess Vicious Delicious and burlesque star Scarlett Bell take to the stage for the opening number.

The hour progress with a mixture of blues music, comedy songs and audience interaction, oh and don’t forget the burlesque as well and it is a very entertaining an d quick hour as well. Okay I think this style of show is more suited for a much later slot, but if you don’t look at the watch you can imagine being in a basement club in the early hours such is the ability of all three performers.

As part of The Laughing Horse Free Festival entry is free but as these guys need to eat a bucket collection is made on the way out. So fold your contribution for their cause on the way out
