I seriously didn’t have any idea what to expect prior to attending the show, the title made me a little confused as to what I was going to be entertained with for an hour.

Geordie Simon Donald is a blokey bloke a lover of beer, football and birds, so why the title?

Having considered a number of alternatives which he tells all about and why they were dismissed, he explains and involved the audience into the resulting title. It boils down to how he has been described by people who know him and together with a multitude of multimedia he leads us though their thought process, and peppers the audience with gags and laughs along the way.

Donald also has a go at impressions, character work and even singing, and there is a serious segment as well albeit based on footie.

In some respects I feel he is a sort of throwback to the working men’s club entertainer with his versatility, but his wide ranging audience went with him on whatever he tried. It was a fun hour that’s for sure well suited to the late evening slot it is in and I look forward to seeing some more next year.
