The Magnets: All This Time 4 Star **** - One4Review
one4review | On 20, Aug 2013
A capella super group The Magnets have been wowing the public for quite a few years now and since I first saw them back in the day until this performance the quality of the singing, the harmonies, the choreography are always top notch. Oh and another thing, available tickets are very few and far between.
This sextet of musicians, singers doesn’t quite seem enough, turn in their normal slick performance of musical styles and arrangements, the vocals are shared more this year than some but for me there seemed to be a ‘safe’ feel to the show. They have hit a winning formula and did’t deviate far from it.
The other abiding thing for me was the volume. I like my music loud, but this for me was waaaay too loud. I know they were playing in a glorified tent, but I had heard most of their set clearly while waiting for another show actually in another venue.
But this is being picky I suppose, everyone at the sell-out show I saw loved it and then some.
