Larry Dean: Out Now 4****

| On 11, Aug 2015

I have seen Larry Dean a couple of times since he won the Scottish Comedian of the Year award in 2013 and it’s so good to see him grow and develop his talent into the professional, relaxed and confident performer he now is. He is a lovely, likeable bender (his description) who puts on a very funny and enjoyable show that is over way too quickly. Larry greets the audience as they enter the show and shakes everyone’s hand as they leave like they’re all old pals who’ve just been visiting him for an hour.

During the show Larry shares his many experiences of growing up in Glasgow, he is a natural story teller and discusses many topics including; his family, particularly his parents obsession with gambling on absolutely anything, sibling rivalry and coming out. He talks of his problem of being offended on behalf of other people and his tendency to take action when aggrieved for others. He does a very convincing London and Nigerian accent, the latter picked up from sharing a flat with a Nigerian man who manages to keep his spirits up with his annoying habit of commentating on every detail of Larry’s life. He interacts well with the audience, in a chatty, friendly manner and the audience responded well to this. There were numerous laughs throughout the show and everyone left with a smile on their face. End of review f*@k
