Diane Spencer Power Tool 4**** - One4Review

Diane Spencer Power Tool 4****

| On 11, Aug 2015

A lot can happen in a year and in Diane Spencer’s case it sure did. She fell in love, bought a house and was involved in writing a comedy play for a diva and former ‘Strictly’ performer who wanted to stage a Fringe show in 2014, or at least use this as a means to other ends.

The story packed with issues, trauma, outrageous demands and expectations of her ‘celeb’ and her total inability to do DIY is narrated with her expected style and as always in her shows jam packed with hilarious, well written anecdotes that generated loads of laughter and gasps of amazement especially with the demands and aspirations of the ‘star’ she was writing for and of course there are a number of black, dare I saw gallows, humorous moments included and even puppets!

The show takes us on a journey through unsuitable houses, The Ivy, rewrites of her play, to Edinburgh Fringe and the eventual staging of something Diane didn’t really envisage happening on stage.

I have seen several of her previous likeable offerings but this is her most enjoyable and accessible and I would consider it an hour well spent.
