Lucy Frederick: In the Wild 3*** - One4Review
one4review | On 22, Aug 2015
This is a nice light-hearted show with Lucy chatting to the audience and sharing some stories, mainly about animals but other topics are covered.
Lucy starts by telling us a bit about her background, her life growing up in the pony club set and her move to London to pursue her comedy career. She interacts well with the audience and we get to know a bit about other people’s pets and their likes and dislikes. She talks of pets she’s had including the best dog in the world, with some amusing capers along the way and asking whether people are dog or cat people and our desire to put human characteristics onto pets. The audience are receptive with the odd laugh here and there. Maybe because it’s quite an intimate gig, Lucy also tells us about being happily single and shares her experiences with tinder, it really was just like being down the pub with your mates having a chat.
There was nothing ground breaking about the material but Lucy is a funny, confident performer who relates well to her audience making it a decent show.
