Begin Again – American High School Theatre Festival – 3***

The only certainty in Oskar and Thea’s lives is that nothing is guaranteed. The play follows their unlikely friendship, as they struggle to navigate their families and uncertain futures. Begin Again explores the healing power of music and the hope that love, family and friends can help you survive your darkest day. It is a play about hope and the belief that, despite adversity and circumstance, it is possible to rise above any challenge and use your voice to affect positive change in the world.
This young, talented cast of actors captured the emotional circumstances perfectly through dramatic and comedic scenes, original raps and live vocals. We learn that there are many circumstances where we wish we could begin again, raising the important question “What will your legacy be?”
This was an excellent performance from this small cast from St. Catherine’s Collegiate Theatre Group. I would highly recommend this for a teenage audience
