Diane Spencer – Seamless 4**** - One4Review
one4review | On 07, Aug 2016
Diane Spencer returns to Edinburgh in 2016 with her seventh solo show entitled Seamless and like the title suggests the hour flows from section to section as smoothly as silk.
I have seen many of the previous offerings and you can always be assured of a quality performance and this year’s product is definitely up with the best. She has a wide ranging selection of topics and shares with the crowd a selection of the occurrences, events and people in her life, especially adding depth to her parents and also a Russian friend with her take on their accents too. Subject material includes mad acronyms, exotic deaths, step children, Viking funerals, Katie Price, David Attenborough’s voice, relationships, and foray into making her own clothes are just a few of the stopping off points along the way.
Diane has the storytellers’ ability to engage with her entire audience and deliver the well-crafted, extremely funny, if occasionally slightly dark set, with style and class.
