Doors to Manual - Rhiannon Vivian 3*** - One4Review
one4review | On 16, Aug 2016
Rhiannon Vivian performs a multi character sketch show set on an aeroplane with a minimalistic mock-up of a series of seats located on the performing area sort of depicting the economy cabin.
Ms Vivian initially as the cabin crew starts off proceedings the scene and we are set for take off. Gradually throughout her hour the audience are introduced to a variety of different characters, each of which is identified with a prop. She intermingles these creations with consummate skill and easily assumes the role of whoever in under the spotlight at the time.
She develops of some of these creations more than others, the whole piece revolves around the initially fear of flying woman, none seemed to have names only characteristics, and is the go to in moving the story along.
This is a pleasant way to open a Fringe day, it is non-challenging, well written and each character, although somewhat stereotyped, is brought to life through the performing skills of Ms Vivian.
