Pierre Novellie is Cool Peter 5***** - One4Review
one4review | On 20, Aug 2016
Pierre Novellie returns to the Fringe with his third show and like the previous two it is a really good hour of solid, exceptionally funny material.
Entering his space suited and booted looking like a labour politician this comic is straight into an hour of standout stand-up delivered in his own laid back style.
His beautifully crafted opening gag on passports set the tone as South African born, Isle of Man funny man led us through a multi-layered gag fresh, generally self-deprecating, commenting on his size, addiction to video games, beards and chicken bones amongst the other stopping off points along the way.
The way he relates the stories of the house he shared in London and its infestations had the sell-out crowd in peals of laughter and groaning at the same time, they were there experiencing it with him.
Although Novellie is in his twenties, he quips that he was born to be 43 and can’t wait to be that age. Well if it means we have another two decades of a similar standard, his comedy audience are in for a treat.
Although he claims otherwise, Pierre is definitely cool, even in his saunaesque shipping container venue.
