Ami and Tami 2** - One4Review

Ami and Tami 2**

| On 13, Aug 2017

Ami and Tami has been advertised as a magical musical based on Hansel and Gretel. It tells the story of siblings Ami and Tami who search for adventure in the forbidden forest and along the way meet various characters, both good and bad.
So, what’s good about this show? Its suitable for children of all ages. The story is easy to follow and the character Yaga the Witch in particular is well played. There are four children as part of the cast, and they were very good. They were planted in the audience at the beginning of the show, and it was quite lovely when they made their appearance.
The show is lacking however in some areas. The story lacks the suspense or excitement that young children may require. The characters were not developed enough to become invested in. There is a bit of a school play feel about it which is an awful shame as the cast are very enthusiastic and the overall idea is a good one. The audience are not involved and at 65 minutes it is far too long.
Overall, a nice idea, but there are far better children’s shows this year.
