Who doesn’t love a good pub quiz? Well, now you can take the kids with you. This show, hosted by the charismatic Patrick Monahan, is good clean fun for all the family.
Whilst queuing up for the show, Monahan’s helpers organise the audience into groups of around eight, and we are given a clipboard and asked to come up with a group name. There are five rounds of the pub quiz, ranging from ‘guess the film’ sound clips, to guessing a random audience member’s occupation. My little one was thrilled to be able to contribute to some of the answers, whilst I silently vowed to turn the telly off every now and again.
Monahan really gets to know his audience, and there were many laughs as he gently made fun of us all. The parents and kids appeared to enjoy it equally, and there is no pressure on the kids to sit and listen, which is becoming more problematic as August progresses.
The show is at 12pm and is on for an hour, which flew by. According to the website it is for children aged 5 and over, which is about right if they want to get involved.
