OK! Hands up time! This is the first time I have seen Andy. Perhaps I was afraid of too many cricket references. I have been missing out. The thing that struck me first about Andy is his enthusiasm and his dedication to the satirical crusade. Four thousand Bugle podcasts is really something. He had many knowing fans in the audience.
Any newbies or any young Fringe goers or even the casual ticket buyer will soon be converted to the cause.
Younger audience members might be put off by the print outs and clip boards but these, and the laptop, are weapons wielded with great skill. The format is simple; you email in a subject and Andy will satirise it. Minutes before the show started keen Andy was gathering in even more requests.
All the topics were dealt with crisp humorous responses. Some responses are, of course, well practised; the Trump, the Brexit, but try something a bit more obscure like; “define millennials” and you see him rise to the challenge .
I heartily recommend this show to you. It will add balance, variety and sheer novelty value to your Fringe and it will help to put the world into true perspective. Buy a ticket.
