Tez Ilyas Teztify 4**** - One4Review

For his 3rd Edinburgh show Tez Ilyas, who has gained much critical acclaim with the previous two, opens with a montage of some of the Anti-Muslim media coverage that he as a Muslim has to endure on a daily basis. Should this be irradiated completely? One may think so, but does Tez?
Ilyas is a working class chap from Lancashire who has recently returned home after being In liberal London for a while and is loving being reengaging with his family, especially his cute nephew and niece. They crop up on occasions within the hour either as anecdotal stories or as sound bites all of which draw laughs and awws from the capacity crowd.
His stories are numerous, middleclass parties, his ex- posh girlfriend, an embarrassing trip to the cinema and chickens all come under his spotlight. But this is not all, he can be relatively political, he talks on Liberal lefties, Brexit racism and religion throughout proceedings, Muslim bans, the requirement for a superhero, making sound solid points liberally sprinkled with his charm and wit.
Testament to his appeal was the fact that the time flew so quickly. He was concluding his performance when it seemed like he had barely begun. I’m convinced he will be a big draw in the comedy world for years to come.
